Now that Hottest 100 is closed, venues around the country are announcing special parties to coincide with the announcements on Australia Day. With so many events going down on the day it's hard to decide which place to go and what to do. MELBOURNE

Melbourne once again proves itself as THE music capital of Australia, with a host of big name acts playing at venues around the city to celebrate Australia Day.

No doubt the biggest ticket in town will be at The Espy Hotel with local rockers British India teaming up with one of the pioneer hip hop DJ's, DJ Yoda. The venue will also be playing the Hottest 100 countdown as well local acts Demon Parade, Royston Vasie, Good Vs. Evil and Mu-Gen. Did we mention that it was free? Not to be outdone, the St Kilda Bowls Club will be hosting the first of its Bowled Over Summer Series for 2012. The day will include a damn fine lineup consisting of Kingswood, Crooked Saint, Dirt Farmer and July Days. There will also be barefoot bowling, BBQ delights and, of course, the Hottest 100 countdown. PERTH

The Rosemount Hotel is the place to be in Perth for all your Australia Day and Hottest 100 celebrations. The party kicks off at probably the earliest time in all of Australia (disregarding the 3 hour time difference from the east coast) at 9am. There will be live music happening at 6pm with the likes of local bands Cavefire Cinema, Sleeping Giant, Gombo and Animal all playing on the main stage.
